Elderly Activities distributing IDs

The Coordinated Services for the Elderly Program of the Elderly Activities Division will issue senior identification cards for those 60 and older from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Kohala Coordinated Services for the Elderly, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Kailua-Kona Kmart and from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at L. Yoshimatsu Senior Center in Waimea.

Words and Wine features three authors

The Words and Wine event hosted by Kona Stories Book Shop on Tuesday will feature authors Catherine Lloyd, Marianne Bickett and Angela Hartfield. The free event begins at 6 p.m. and includes pupus and wine.

Lloyd presents her first book in the Regency series, “Death Comes to the Village,” a story of a feisty heroine and a Major who was heroically wounded at Waterloo.

Bickett’s book “Leonardo and the Magic Art Cart” is book one of “Art a la Cart,” a planned series of magical encounters with artists of the past.

Hartfield will present her “Whispers of Love Oracle Cards” that were created to help users find methods and messages for building stronger, more loving relationships while remembering the interconnectedness of everything in their lives.

Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats joins giving website

Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats has joined #GivingTuesday, a first-of-its-kind effort that will utilize social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving. This day of giving will take place Tuesday.

Kona Toastmasters meetings planned

Kona Toastmasters meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month at the old Borders location on the corner of Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Henry Street in Kailua-Kona. Participants learn communication and leadership skills.
